World Master Games 2005
 

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

In 2005, Edmonton will play host to the World Masters Games. The World Masters Games will be running from July 22-31st, and is predicted to attract more than 16,000 elite and recreational athletes who will compete in 27 sports. There will be a large diversity of sports including rugby, softball, athletics, swimming, canoe, basketball, golf and many others. This event promises to be an amazing experience for everyone involved.

For those interested in taking part and competing there is no pre-qualification for the World Masters Games or affiliation required. The only pre-requisite is that you are over the minimum age as of December 31, 2005 (minimum age for most sports is 30, and competition is organized into age categories that increase by five or 10-year intervals) and love your sport!

Registration opens January 27, 2004. Register early to reserve your spot and take advantage of the early bird special (until July 22, 2004)! The early bird rate of $160 saves you $25 off the regular price. Your registration package includes:

  • Entry into one sport
  • Free transportation (Edmonton Transit System) for the duration of the games,
  • Athletes' knapsack with additional items such as product samples from major sponsors, discount coupons to local attractions and restaurants etc.
  • Entry into the Games Centre, including nightly entertainment.
  • And more!
